Responsibilities of the Publications Coordinator include but are not limited to: Responsible for the publications segment of the Office of Communications’ public information program. Develops, prepares, writes, types, edits, proofs, performs layout work and issues Ohio Lottery Commission publications such as Ticket Seller, newsletters, articles, reports, trade publications, and Employee Knowledge Center information. Develops and produces the Ohio Lottery Commission’s Ticket Seller publications. Writes, types, edits, proofs and performs layout work for the Ticket Seller publications. Prepares information for Ticket Seller News Pages. Researches information and interviews employees, retailers, vendors and winners and generates story ideas. Maintains mailing lists and assists with the Ticket Seller budget. Works with State Printing for publication printing needs. As needed, travels to locations to gather information for assignments. Serves as a resource person for information on the positive public presentation of Ohio Lottery Commission programs and activities. Contributes to Office of Communications digital content by writing blogs, engaging with social media community, corresponding with customers, assisting with social media promotions and creating graphics. Assists with public records requests. As needed, performs public relations responsibilities for the Ohio Lottery Commission’s Game Show: Interacts and communicates with game show contestants. Conducts contestant drawings as needed. Travels to and attends show tapings. In backup capacity, develops, prepares, writes, types, proofs and updates information regarding various game show initiatives, promotions, ticket releases, special events, etc. Performs other duties and works on special projects. Requirements

  • 30 months experience in field of journalism or communication dealing in public multi-media techniques & relations, public speaking, news writing, reporting & editing or technical report translation & communication dealing in public meetings; valid driver's license.
  • Or completion of undergraduate core program in journalism or communication; 6 months experience in public multi-media techniques & relations in field of journalism or communication; valid driver's license.
  • Or 12 months experience as Public Information Specialist, 64420; valid driver's license.
  • Or equivalent of Minimum Class Qualifications For Employment noted above.
