About The Position

La Paz County is seeking a dedicated and organized Public Health Programs Navigator to join our Health Department. Under the indirect supervision of the Office Manager, you will play a critical role in supporting various divisions of Public Health, including Administration, Nursing, Environmental Services, and Public Health Human Services. This position offers a dynamic work environment with opportunities to make a meaningful impact on community health.

Requirements

  • Excellent customer service and communication skills
  • Strong organizational abilities and attention to detail
  • Ability to multitask and manage frequent interruptions
  • Proficiency with computers and office equipment (Microsoft Office, email, data entry, scanning, faxing)
  • Comfortable working in varied and sometimes adverse conditions
  • Ability to lift up to 40 lbs, stand for extended periods, and wear a respiratory mask as needed
  • Ability to travel to remote areas and work overnight when necessary
  • High School Diploma or GED Certificate
  • Valid Driver's License
  • Willingness to comply with required immunizations, TB testing, and screening
  • CPR Certification
  • Ability to pass a background check

Responsibilities

  • Manage clerical and front desk operations for the entire health department
  • Serve as a professional and friendly point of contact for the public
  • Communicate clearly and effectively, both verbally and in writing
  • Assist with clinics both in-office and throughout the county
  • Learn and apply immunization schedules within 6 months
  • Administer food handler tests
  • Obtain Vital Records certification within 6 months
  • Learn and support the Vision Program
  • Conduct investigations and monitor cases of reportable diseases in Arizona
  • Maintain effective working relationships with staff, co-workers, and patients
  • Promote compliance with public health policies and standards
  • Maintain confidentiality and adhere to infection control policies
  • Answer phones, take messages, and direct calls appropriately
  • Assist and arrange services across all divisions
  • Prepare clinic charts, perform data entry, and handle billing
  • Input data into various websites and databases
  • Exercise initiative and judgment in unusual and emergency situations
  • Participate in health fairs, expos, and community events
  • Distribute promotional materials at events
  • Demonstrate proficiency with State of Arizona online platforms
  • Perform other duties and training as assigned
