The Pima County Health Department is seeking a forward-thinking Public Health Program Coordinator - Prevention Liaison to help elevate community engagement and strengthen the impact of the Office of Injury and Violence Prevention. This role brings together relationship-building, event coordination, and data-informed decision-making to advance meaningful strategies that reduce injuries and violence across our community. In this position, you will use emerging data trends to lead the development of new partnerships, guide public-facing events, generate public health interventions, and support multidisciplinary fatality workgroups. You’ll collaborate closely with program managers, community partners, and internal teams to ensure activities align with strategic priorities and move key initiatives forward.   • Coordinates program activities, timelines, and resources to ensure efficient execution
  • Collaborates with program managers to develop and maintain project plans and work closely to meet program goals and objectives
  • Tracks program progress, milestones, and deliverables, including grant contracts
  • Collects, organizes, and analyzes data related to program performance, outcomes, and impact
  • Assists in developing data collection tools, surveys, and assessment instruments
  • Supports community outreach efforts and participates in public health education and awareness activities
  • Leads community engagement efforts, including outreach, needs assessments, and partnership development
  • Assists in budget management, expense tracking, and procurement activities
  • Identifies areas for program improvement and assists in implementing corrective actions
  • May supervise support staff and execute performance plans and individual development plans.
  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university with a major in business administration, public administration, public health, healthcare administration or a related field as determined by the department head at the time of recruitment AND two years of experience coordinating, monitoring, and/or administering public health program activities or providing administrative support for a program or specialized work unit. (Relevant professional level experience and/or education from an accredited college or university may be substituted.)
  • OR: Four years of experience with Pima County in Public Health Policy Analyst I, Public Health Educator I or II, Public Health Navigator, Public Health Program Specialist or related professional administrative or public health program classifications as determined by the department head at the time of recruitment.
  • Valid driver license is required at time of application
  • Valid AZ driver license is required at time of appointment.
  • A bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university with a major in business administration, public administration, public health, healthcare administration or a related field as determined by the department head at the time of recruitment.
  • Minimum two (2) years of experience coordinating, monitoring, and/or administering public health program activities or providing administrative support for a program or specialized work unit.
  • Experience working in injury and violence prevention.
  • Experience in public speaking and stakeholder engagement.
  • Experience with written and verbal communication for diverse audiences.
