About The Position

The Public Health Physician, Senior - Medical Epidemiology option is a permanent, full-time position with the Alabama Department of Public Health (www.adph.org). Positions are located in Montgomery. This is professional medical work in directing a specialized program of public health services on a statewide basis.

Responsibilities

• Direct a specialized program of public health services on a statewide basis
• Provide medical epidemiology expertise to support public health programs and initiatives
• Analyze and interpret data to inform public health policy and program development
• Collaborate with state and local health departments, healthcare providers, and other stakeholders to promote public health
• Develop and implement programs to prevent and control infectious and chronic diseases
• Conduct research and evaluation to inform public health policy and program development
• Communicate complex public health information to various audiences, including healthcare providers, policymakers, and the general public
