Public Health Nurse I: Under close supervision, PHN performs public health nursing, teaching, and health guidance services in homes, clinics, and a wide variety of community settings in connection with the health promotion and the prevention and control of disease or disability in the older and vulnerable population as well as in the population services by child welfare services. PHN participates in assessment of this population that leads to development and implementation of sound health policy that improves the health outcomes of adults who are at risk of being in out of home placement and have suffered abuse or neglect. In Child Welfare Services (Foster Care Nursing Unit), the tasks of the Public Health Nurse I/II include but are not limited to conducting medical health history interviews, providing health information to clients, collection and review of medical health information, entry of medical records, and health care planning. Public Health Nurse II: Same as above, however this classification will work under general supervision.
