The Health Inspection Program (HIP), located within Maine Center for Disease Control and Prevention (Maine CDC), is looking for a Public Health Inspector Supervisor to supervise and manage a team of public health inspectors. This position will serve as one (1) of the US FDA Certified Training Officers responsible for training and standardizing state and municipal inspectors in conducting food safety inspections and providing continuing education training. Additionally, this position will set training standards and will develop, implement and coordinate, and evaluate public health inspection programs. As a Public Health Inspector Supervisor, you will provide direct supervision to several field Public Health Inspector I positions and provide functional oversight for municipal health inspectors. You will be responsible for administering public health inspection and training programs. As a Certified Training Officer by the US Food and Drug Administration (FDA), you'll be responsible for the certification and standardization of all State and municipal public health inspectors performing food inspections and functions. In this role, you will be on call for after-hour emergencies, such as fires, floods, ice storms, power outages, and food and waterborne illness outbreaks for establishments licensed by the Public Health Inspection Program.
