About The Position

We are seeking a dedicated Public Health Consultant to support statewide Maternal and Infant Clinical Initiatives focused on improving maternal and infant health outcomes. This role will lead coordination efforts for the Ohio Council to Advance Maternal Health (OH-CAMH) and collaborate with healthcare providers, public health agencies, and community partners to reduce severe maternal morbidity, maternal mortality, and infant mortality. The position supports program planning, data analysis, stakeholder engagement, and evaluation to advance evidence-based public health practice.

Requirements

• 6 mos. exp. in providing direct service &/or consultation in a public health, community health, hospital &/or clinic setting, to include exp. in program evaluation, grant review, developing & presenting training programs & in facilitating &/or working collaboratively with coalitions or groups; completion of graduate core coursework in public health, health care, health administration or related field; must be able to provide own transportation.
• Or 18 mos. exp. in providing direct service &/or consultation in a public health, community health, hospital &/or clinic setting, to include exp. in program evaluation, grant review, developing & presenting training programs & in facilitating &/or working collaboratively with coalitions or groups; completion of undergraduate core coursework in public health, health care, health administration or related field; must be able to provide own transportation.
• Or equivalent of Minimum Class Qualifications for Employment noted above.
• Travel required, as needed.
• Must provide own transportation or in order to operate a state vehicle, you must have a valid driver’s license.

Nice To Haves

• Experience in public health program planning, implementation, or evaluation.
• Knowledge of maternal and infant health issues, health equity, and public health systems.
• Strong skills in data analysis, communication, stakeholder engagement, and project coordination.
• Experience working with diverse partners across healthcare, public health, and community organizations preferred.
• Experience with grant or contract management.
• Familiarity with program evaluation methods and health data analysis.
• Ability to manage multiple projects and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams.

Responsibilities

• Lead and coordinate activities of the Ohio Council to Advance Maternal Health (OH-CAMH), including stakeholder engagement, meeting facilitation, agenda development, and work plan management.
• Identify and engage diverse partners across healthcare, public health, community organizations, and advocacy groups.
• Organize and support task force meetings, trainings, conferences, and collaborative initiatives related to maternal and infant health.
• Provide consultation and technical assistance to healthcare professionals, public health agencies, and community organizations on maternal and infant health initiatives.
• Serve as a liaison between state, local, and national partners to support coordinated efforts addressing maternal and infant health outcomes.
• Facilitate partnerships with community-based organizations, healthcare providers, and other stakeholders to strengthen collaborative approaches to improving health outcomes.
• Collect, analyze, and interpret data related to maternal and infant health outcomes, including severe maternal morbidity, maternal mortality, and infant mortality.
• Develop and implement program and process evaluations to measure effectiveness and guide continuous improvement.
• Prepare reports, presentations, and other communications to share program outcomes and inform policy and program development.
• Oversee contracts and grants supporting clinical initiative activities and data-to-action projects.
• Monitor subcontractor performance and compliance with program and data reporting requirements.
• Assist with grant development, budgeting, funding proposals, and review of grant applications and contracts.
• Develop educational materials and lead trainings, workshops, and public awareness activities related to maternal and infant health.
• Disseminate program information and research findings through reports, presentations, newsletters, and other communication channels.
• Support public education campaigns and outreach to healthcare providers and community partners.
• Contribute to program planning, policy development, and interpretation of public health guidelines and regulations.
• Maintain program documentation, records, and reporting systems to track activities, outcomes, and health objectives.
• Respond to stakeholder inquiries and data requests and support reporting requirements for federal and state funders.
