About The Position

The Public Health and General Preventive Medicine Residency Program Director is responsible for the leadership, administration, and oversight of an accredited residency program in preventive medicine for the Cook County Department of Public Health (CCDPH). This role combines educational leadership, program management, mentorship, and clinical practice to train the next generation of preventive medicine physicians. Ensures compliance with accreditation standards, fosters innovation in training, and integrates the program with institutional and public health priorities. This position also serves as a Medical Officer for CCDPH, responsible for working as part of an interdisciplinary team to provide select personal and broad population health services to the residents of Cook County. This position monitors and interprets multiple and complex population health status indicators and propose evidence informed policies and practices to advance health equity and improve well-being; including providing medical leadership to programs and divisions of the department as well as medical consultation to suburban Cook County providers as needed.
