About The Position

The Walnut Creek, CA office of Lewis Brisbois, a full-service AmLaw 100 firm, is actively seeking an attorney to join its Public Agency & Municipal Law Practice. The ideal candidate will have at least two (2) to fifteen (15) years of experience defending public entities, including law enforcement agencies and their officers, in state and federal courts and administrative proceedings. Partnership opportunities will be considered for those with extensive relevant experience. Admission to the California Bar is required. Lewis Brisbois' Public Agency & Municipal Law Practice provides a range of litigation, counseling, and transactional representation to cities, counties, regional governments, special districts, school districts, and joint powers authorities. Our team handles municipal law matters for public entities from California to the East Coast, and features several lawyers who serve as General Counsel, Assistant General Counsel, or Special Counsel for cities, special districts, and other municipal bodies. Qualified candidates will be comfortable drafting and responding to discovery and initial pleadings, drafting, and arguing motions, as well as taking and defending depositions Candidates must have strong writing and analytical skills, and the ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment. The successful candidate will be a self-starter with the ability to work independently and as part of a team. Although we would prefer that you have some experience in public agency and municipal law, we are also interested in working with developing talented attorneys who come to us with excellent skills in any litigation arena. Requirements
