Requirements

  • Previous janitorial experience preferred.
  • Previous experience at a 4-5-star hotel/resort preferred.
  • Physical activities include kneeling, bending, lifting, stretching, pushing, pulling, twisting, and turning.
  • Must be able to move objects weighing up to 50 pounds without assistance and up to 100 pounds with assistance.
  • Must be able to push/pull a loaded laundry cart or a piece of machinery.
  • Must be able to speak/read/write English to interact with guests and co-workers to understand, communicate, and accommodate needs and requests.
  • A great attitude is required, with the ability to work weekends/holidays.
  • Legally authorized to work in the United States.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain cleanliness of public areas in Front and Heart of House, including public bathrooms, hotel exit/entrance, lobby, hallways, business center, various offices, and employee common spaces.
  • Perform activities such as vacuuming, sweeping, mopping, cleaning and stocking public bathrooms, dusting, and polishing furniture.
  • Respond to guest requests, such as delivering and/or picking up items and setting up items in guest rooms (e.g., rollaway beds, cribs, fridges).
  • Assist Attendants as directed by Supervisor/manager, including moving beds, furniture, turning mattresses, and removing or hanging sheers and drapes.
  • Utilize task assignment device (HotSOS) to accept requests, update progress, and prioritize completion of tasks.
  • Provide service with poise, greeting all guests on guest room floors with a smile and according to Langham and FORBES service standards.
  • Maintain proper and safe usage of cleaning chemicals and solutions, following departmental procedures for reporting hazardous materials or conditions.
  • Follow all safety and sanitation policies and Connect sustainability procedures.
  • Report any suspicious persons, activities, or items to Housekeeping Supervisors/Managers or Security team.
  • Report any maintenance/upkeep deficiencies and all lost and found items to the appropriate department.
  • Properly and safely utilize the assigned master keys and all assigned tools, equipment, and uniforms.
  • Carry out other duties and tasks as assigned by Supervisor/manager.
