About The Position

The Public Affairs Regional Coordinator at Planned Parenthood of Wisconsin, Inc. is responsible for developing and implementing outreach and advocacy strategies to promote reproductive and sexual health. This role involves coordinating efforts in regional areas, providing advocacy training, and increasing visibility and support for the organization's mission. The position requires strong communication skills, grassroots organizing experience, and a commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED required; Bachelor's degree in a related field preferred.
  • Two years of related experience in community, grassroots, or issue campaign organizing.
  • Demonstrated experience leading work teams, volunteer teams, and/or interns.
  • Experience in public speaking and leading training with adult learners preferred.
  • Strong computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office programs.

Nice To Haves

  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) skills for an additional $1.50 per hour.
  • Experience with digital organizing tactics.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement the Public Affairs organizing and outreach plan in assigned regions.
  • Provide internal and external advocacy training to enhance the organization's advocacy effectiveness.
  • Supervise Public Affairs organizers in the assigned region and participate in the hiring process.
  • Manage volunteer and intern programs for internal and external activities.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with community organizations and local leaders to support PPWI's legislative agenda.
  • Organize awareness events in assigned areas and facilitate grassroots communications to elected officials.
  • Make presentations on PPWI's public policy issues and represent PPWI's advocacy interests in local coalitions.
  • Coordinate with the Director of Community Relations to ensure outreach plans align with PPWI's goals.
  • Maintain reporting and tracking mechanisms to articulate the results of work and ensure compliance with 501(c)(3) guidelines.
