Join Publix Technology as a Deployment Engineer where you can be part of a team that builds, configures, and customizes hardware platforms for our retail and corporate business areas. Specifically, this position will work in the Deployment Center where the team builds and configures all technology related equipment for new stores, retail, and corporate projects as well as retail and corporate incidents and requests. The Deployment team plays a key role in supporting our retail and corporate technicians as well as assisting our engineering and development teams. The most suitable candidate will be a technical candidate with strong analytical, planning and communication skills, including the ability to communicate effectively with management, peers, and business unit customers. Additionally, the candidate would be familiar with all aspects of staging technology, such as terminals, workstations, scales, self-checkouts, servers, PCs, routers, switches, firewalls, and mobile devices. Requirements

  • Associate degree in information technology, or equivalent technical experience
  • 1+ years of experience supporting various hardware, software, and operating system platforms to include Microsoft, Android, iOS, HP, NCR, Honeywell, Apple, VMM, SCCM, Active Directory
  • Ability to troubleshoot network and software issues pertaining to build system tasks and retail/corporate specific builds
  • Ability to resolve technical issues by making decisions using sound business judgement
  • Solid understanding of the functional and operational practices necessary to operate in a highly available, highly secure, and highly regulated environment to meet business and compliance requirements

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor’s degree in information technology, or equivalent technical experience
  • 3+ years of experience supporting various hardware, software, and operating system platforms specifically related to Publix POS and Publix Corporate Support
  • 3+ years of experience supporting various hardware, software, and operating system platforms to include Microsoft, Android, iOS, HP, NCR, Honeywell, Apple, VMM, SCCM, Active Directory

Responsibilities

  • Manage and deliver all corporate and retail hardware and software builds for new production stores, staging stores, development stores, and corporate support sites
  • Perform software builds of store systems, workstations, POS terminals, mobile devices, scales, networking components, and all associated peripheral equipment to deliver a functional production store, staging store, development store, and corporate support site
  • Implement software packages and configuration changes to ensure new stores, staging stores, development stores, corporate support site systems are up to date with the latest production code level, security packages, and other software components
  • Manage/monitor the status of the systems to ensure proper operations and uptime
  • Stage and configure hardware for retail stores and corporate support sites for incident, request and project work as needed
  • Ensure that new store builds are completed on time to support new store openings
  • Foster and maintain working relationships with customers to ensure processes are optimized to support expected customer service levels
