Northwest Respiratory Services seeks a Part Time Warehouse Assistant to join our team in Des Moines, IA. This person will assist in managing inventory, shipping, procurement and maintenance of respiratory therapy equipment and supplies. This position offers a flexible schedule of up to 20 hours per week. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Assists with Inventory Control of products As new products enter the warehouse verifies packing slip accuracy with purchase order Stock shelves, rotate inventory items as necessary, report shortages to manager. Maintain equipment repair processes, including disinfecting, cleaning, reassembly Function testing of reassembled equipment and placement back in inventory as patient ready Fill daily work orders in a timely manner for UPS shipping readiness Report and take active part in measured improvement in processes to reduce incorrect deliveries Assists team to ensure Branch orders are pulled accurately Ensure branch orders are shipped in a timely matter using the most cost-effective means. Communicate inventory needs to leadership based on established par levels Serve as a product availability and location resource to Customer Service, Service Technicians, and other team members. Assist with clerical activities including filing, and maintaining of various established data bases including equipment repair log and other compliance records. Arrange procurement of CPAP/BiPAP and oximetry download data Develop and maintain a basic knowledge of NRS Employee Handbook and Policy and Procedure Manual Attend annual training sessions and/or competency tests Under the direct supervision of Director of RT assists with in house clients as appropriate All other duties as assigned by branch manager.

  • Education/Experience – High School diploma or general education degree. Warehouse and or HME experience is preferred but not required. Ability to create Microsoft word documents and proficient at data entry to established Microsoft excel spreadsheets
  • Employee Screening – successful clearance of motor vehicle record
  • Language Skills – Ability to speak and communicate well with clients. Ability to read and interpret documents such as instructions/procedures/manufacturers recommendations
  • Interpersonal Skills – Must possess good customer and communication skills with internal and external customer groups
  • Adaptability-- must be flexible and resourceful in an ever-changing environment
  • Time Management – Ability to work independently, organize and manage multiple priorities with little supervision
  • Physical Demands – Frequent bending, reaching, twisting. Ability to lift up to and including 60 pounds. Frequent standing, walking. Subject to varied warehouse temperatures. Tolerance to disinfectants used.
  • Safety/Security – Actively promotes and personally observes all safety and security procedures and uses all equipment and materials properly
  • Certificates, Licenses, Registrations – State Issued Drivers license
  • Warehouse and or HME experience is preferred but not required.
