ORGANIZATION SUMMARY World Relief is a global Christian humanitarian organization whose mission is to boldly engage the world’s greatest crises in partnership with the church. The organization was founded in the aftermath of World War II to respond to the urgent humanitarian needs of war-torn Europe. Since then, for 80 years, across 100 countries, World Relief has partnered with local churches and communities to build a world where families thrive and communities flourish. Today, organizational programming focuses on humanitarian and disaster response, community strengthening and resilience, and refugee & immigrant services and advocacy. POSITION SUMMARY: This position has the primary responsibility of driving a 15-passenger van to transport students to and from English classes, as well as to maintain communication with the Support Services Manager for updated routes for picking up and dropping off students. This position will be part of the Student Support Services Team that provides a number of support services to the Adult English Language Program at World Relief. Preference given to those with Spanish, Swahili, or Dari language skills. This is a limited-term position funded through a grant agreement until June 30th, 2026 and contingent upon funding extension. It is a part time position consisting of 12 hours per week, scheduled on Tuesdays and Thursdays.

Requirements

  • Desire to serve and empower the Church to impact vulnerable communities
  • Able to affirm and/or acknowledge World Reliefs Core Beliefs, Statement of Faith, Christian Identity and National Association of Evangelicals' For the Health of The Nation document
  • A valid Illinois Driver’s License
  • 1 year of driving experience in the US required
  • Good driving record required
  • Access to own transportation to commute to/between work sites in DuPage and Aurora areas.

Responsibilities

  • Pick up students in the morning and bring them to the site of their English classes.
  • Take students home after English classes.
  • Follow transportation schedules and communicate with the Student Support Team for route updates.
  • Assist with copying materials and delivering them to students.
  • Assist with picking up equipment from students who no longer take classes.
  • Other duties as assigned by the Student Support Services Team.
