About The Position

Summary The Academic Support Center Specialist is primarily responsible for providing administrative support to the Academic Support Center including coordinating student workshops and peer training, fielding requests and referrals with the overall goal of retaining students and increasing student success. Compensation for the PT ASC- Specialist is $17.90 - $20.58 an hour. Essential Functions This list is meant to be representative, not exhaustive. Coordinate Academic Support Center service request requiring room resources and complete all corresponding communications. Build and maintain positive relationship with faculty, staff and administrators to provide excellent service to students. Assist with the design, development and deployment of program surveys, student and faculty focus groups pertaining to the SI program, as well as the student success series workshops. Field faculty requests, student referrals and monitor engagement, attendance, and persistence data for the ASC. Participate in college-wide or other professional development programs and activities that promote student success. Deploy, collect, and maintain data related to student referrals, engagement, attendance, feedback, and persistence. Perform related duties as required.

Requirements

  • Associate’s degree.
  • One year experience working in an educational, learning, or social service setting.
  • Direct experience with data collection and organizational tools for data manipulation and reporting.
  • Strong computer skills and experience with Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Strong prioritization and organization skills with the ability to multitask and work independently.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, including the ability to establish and maintain cooperative and professional working relationships with others.
