About The Position
Fountain Valley School, a prestigious boarding school located in Colorado Springs, CO, is seeking a dedicated part-time School Bus Driver to ensure the safe transportation of high school students. The school, which has been providing a rigorous education since 1930, serves a diverse student body of 250 students in grades 9-12. The Bus Driver will play a crucial role in the daily lives of students, providing them with a reliable and safe means of transportation to and from school. This position requires a commitment to safety, punctuality, and a positive attitude while interacting with students and staff. The primary responsibility of the Bus Driver is to transport students according to a predetermined schedule and route. This includes assisting students as they board and disembark from the bus, ensuring that all safety protocols are followed, and maintaining a clean and mechanically sound vehicle. The Bus Driver will also be responsible for verifying permissions for students who may ride home with friends and will need to manage student behavior to maintain a safe environment during transit. Additionally, the Bus Driver will conduct pre- and post-trip inspections of the bus and attend safety meetings as required. This role is not just about driving; it involves building relationships with students and being a trusted figure in their daily routine. The ideal candidate will be comfortable driving in various weather conditions, including mountainous terrain, and will have a strong commitment to the safety and well-being of the students they transport.
