About The Position

Sentara Princess Anne Hospital in Virginia Beach, VA Part- time - Mondays and Wednesdays, with an occasional Friday. The hours are 0730-1600 Performs comprehensive nutrition assessment within department approved time frames and documentation within department time frames. Performs nutrition focused physical exam when appropriate.Performs malnutrition diagnosis in accordance with ASPEN/AND criteria and documents accordingly in EMR. Follow-up per department policy time frames. Patient/family and staff education. Participates in multidisciplinary patient focused meetings including MDRs, ICU rounds, Also Meets expectations by providing evidence of working with multidisciplinary teams in direct patient care. Patient/family and staff education. Serves as SME for clinical nutrition department by presenting one lecture in subject matter to clinical nutrition team, community, nursing staff, medical staff or assisting in one high level project for the year. Mentors staff RDs by performing chart audits or other duties as assigned by leadership. Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree (Required)
  • If Bachelor's Degree is in major other than Dietetics, must complete an Accreditation Council for Education in Nutrition and Dietetics (ACEND) accredited Didactic Program in Dietetics
  • Registered Dietitian (Required within 6 months of hire)
  • BLS (Required within 90 days)
  • Verification statements required for those candidates awaiting RD credentialing
