About The Position

The role involves providing care to patients with neuromuscular, orthopedic, and other physically related disorders requiring mobility training, strengthening, modalities, specialized manual therapy, and neuromuscular re-education. The physical therapist will utilize the rehab process to promote and restore optimal health and well-being of the patient, while assuming personal accountability for the organizational mission and core values.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in physical therapy
• Physical Therapist in state of employment, or Physical Therapist license from a participating state in the National Licensure Compact
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) from American Heart Association
• Must have PT experience

Responsibilities

• Evaluate patients presenting or referred to physical therapy by completing initial evaluations within time standards per department protocol.
• Apply appropriate diagnostic and prognostic testing for musculoskeletal, neurological, and neuromuscular conditions.
• Perform a variety of best practice and evidence-based therapeutic interventions to address the unique rehabilitation needs of each patient.
• Establish appropriate treatment plans with measurable and attainable goals and time frames by collaborating with patients, families, and other members of the health care team.
• Select and implement therapy activities per plan of care to ensure that patient, family, and therapy goals are met.
• Recognize individual limitations and capabilities and utilize available resources.
• Evaluate patients' learning styles and appropriately teach patients skills and techniques required for participation in physical therapy.
