About The Position

CUMULUS MEDIA | Dallas is seeking a part-time News Anchor who is skilled in story selection and compelling storytelling. The role requires a strong understanding of audio and sound, as well as proficiency in social media platforms. The ideal candidate will contribute to the news department by writing and voicing news stories, reporting on location, and managing emergency news situations.

Requirements

• Previous experience in radio news or website journalism
• Familiarity with digital audio editing software
• Experience with long-form, breaking, non-scripted, weather coverage
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Great team player

Responsibilities

• Write and voice news stories including outside of the newsroom
• Write news stories for the station websites
• Post new stories on social media
• Handle emergency news/weather in show; on call for weather disasters/breaking news
• Perform various news duties as needed, with the potential of working overnight or early morning hours, and some anchoring as necessary
