Job Summary Serve as an instructor for the Risk Management Institute ( RMI ) program. Responsible for developing course content, setting up classroom space as needed, and delivering course matter in order to educate RMI students. Students are generally professionals who are already employed, mostly in the energy industry. Courses vary in subject matter and include but are not limited to: CPR , H2S, SafeLandUSATM (Veriforce®/ PEC ), IADC Basin United, IADC RigPass, DOT Recordkeeping & Compliance, OSHA -30, various other OSHA classes. Courses are 4-40 hours in duration and are scheduled according to instructor availability. Essential Functions Maintain required certifications. Develop proficiency with American Heart Association, IADC , OSHA , and Veriforce® for various safety training programs. Maintain programmatic records as required by Midland College and accreditation/approval agencies and submit documentation in a timely manner. Participate in the instruction of RMI courses. Prepare classroom for classes, help dismantle and clean up after class activities. Demonstrate the proper use of equipment and hazardous or bio hazardous materials. Educate and assist students with learning of the various skills necessary for safety education. Evaluate student performance. Demonstrate a strong interest in student success. Conduct formative and summative assessment of student learning. Create and maintain a positive learning environment, displaying and requiring professionalism in all activities. Work collaboratively with PPDC staff on meeting program goals and learning outcomes. Adapt and apply safety methods, practices, and techniques. Provide assistance to PPDC staff with regard to prerequisite requirements for class, necessary logistics, recordkeeping procedures, and tracking classroom supplies needing to be ordered. Assist in promoting classes in RMI program. Contact potential students/companies for classes with low enrollment to help meet minimum enrollment criteria. Follow health and safety procedures and regulations. Work with minimal direct supervision. Must have reliable transportation for travel to auxiliary teaching sites. Other duties as assigned. Physical Demands Must be able to lift or move equipment (up to 40 pounds) Must be able to sit or stand for long periods of time. Use of manual dexterity. Travel to auxiliary training sites may be required.
