As a Foster Care Coordinator in the South Carolina Foster Care department, you will play a critical role in ensuring the success and stability of foster placements by supporting both the youth and the caregivers. You’ll also help increase visibility and awareness of the foster care program by assisting with administrative tasks, engaging in marketing and outreach efforts, and enhancing the program’s social media presence. A typical day as a Foster Care Coordinator will include conducting home visits, providing case management and support to foster families, coordinating services, managing documentation and compliance tasks, and collaborating with internal staff and community partners. You may also spend time developing content or materials for outreach and engaging with the community to recruit and support new foster homes. As a Foster Care Coordinator, flexibility is key. Some evenings or weekends may be required based on family needs, events, or outreach opportunities. This position also includes participation in an on-call weekend rotation to ensure 24/7 support and coverage for foster families in the Greenville area in case of emergencies or urgent needs.
