About The Position
DHL is seeking a part-time Courier/Dockworker to join our team in New York, NY. As a part-time Courier/Dockworker, you will be responsible for following standard company procedures and safety requirements to pick up and deliver time-sensitive materials efficiently. This role requires you to operate a vehicle to customer sites, ensuring that all deliveries are made punctually and safely, regardless of weather conditions. You will be expected to handle various tasks under tight deadlines, including climbing in and out of the vehicle and navigating stairs as necessary to complete deliveries. In this position, you will pick up, handle, and deliver time-sensitive documents and packages while considering traffic patterns, alternative routes, and driving regulations. You will also be responsible for ensuring that all delivery materials are safely delivered to the correct consignee. The role involves operating a scanner to record shipping and package information for documents and packages picked up or delivered. Maintaining good work habits, such as reporting to work on time and adhering to safety procedures, is essential. Additionally, you may assist your supervisor in training and orienting new couriers, as well as performing check rides to review performance and proper route usage.
