Requirements

  • Is a Christ follower with a personal commitment to Jesus Christ as his or her Lord and Savior.
  • Has a high school diploma
  • Has a heart to shepherd people
  • Passionate about the ministry of Long Hollow with a heart to help every ministry team thrive by organizing a robust childcare ministry to meet the needs of a growing church
  • Flexible schedule with the ability to work from home, and able to work nights and weekends as needed
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Personable, outgoing, and friendly personality. This person must be approachable, well spoken, thoughtful and attentive in their speech and communication with employees, ministry leaders, and parents
  • High level of organization and detail with the ability to budget for childcare events, manage payroll, and oversee a large number of teachers with various schedules and multiple ministry needs/events
  • Extremely driven, self-motivated, and excellent time management skills since this position works remotely to organize and schedule childcare events
  • Strong understanding of child development and the ability to organize activities, lessons and schedules for childcare events for children from infancy – 5th grade
  • At least 2 years of volunteer or professional experience working directly with children or families in a church or educational and Google Docs/Workspace applications
  • Humble, teachable, and flexible spirit; willing to adjust with changing demands and deadlines in a fast-paced work environment
  • Is a team player and driven to serve others with a cheerful attitude
  • Ability to react appropriately under pressure, apply good judgment, use sound decision-making and problem-solving skills in a deadline-driven environment
  • Possesses strong organizational skills, with the ability to adapt to changing priorities and meet expected deadlines.

  • Experience in Paylocity, Planning Center Online, and Rock is helpful but not required.

Responsibilities

  • Works with the various ministry teams and departments of Long Hollow to meet childcare needs including, but not limited to: iMom, Monday night care for Celebrate Recovery, life group childcare, childcare for leadership training events and any future ministry needs.
  • Coordinates childcare including but not limited to: The planning and preparation of schedules and activities for children including lesson planning, the printing, preparation, and organization of classroom materials and the physical set up and clean up of children’s classrooms
  • Coordinating food and snacks for children and teachers as needed
  • Communicating and organizing information for check-in and Rock, managing room reservation, and coordinating with other ministries for classroom and event set up
  • Coordinates all paid teachers/childcare workers for childcare needs within the church including: Hire and perform background checks, maintain staff requirements
  • Train, manage, and invest in paid childcare teachers
  • Schedule workers in Planning Center Online
  • Payroll – enter time adjustments, approve time sheets, submit for processing to Financial office
  • Back charge departments for childcare costs monthly
  • Develop and implement a strategic and specific plan to love, appreciate, and invest in childcare workers through: Personal shepherding of childcare workers
  • Ongoing leadership development
  • Required to be present for all on-campus childcare events or staff an experienced coordinator as the point person for the event. This includes Monday evenings, Wednesday evenings, Wednesday mornings, and other potential days/weekends as needed.
  • Meet with the LH Kids team & other ministry leaders as needed to report feedback, schedule planning days, and participate in debriefs
  • Assist Curriculum Coordinator with printing and preparing weekly curriculum for Sundays and/or Wednesdays as directed by supervisor including but not limited to: Purchasing curriculums materials and managing receipts as needed
  • Organizing materials in appropriate bins, binders, etc. for each classroom and age group
  • Organize resources
  • Physical set up and cleanup of classrooms and materials on a weekly basis (i.e. setting up classrooms for Wednesday night use prior to 4pm on Wednesdays and resetting rooms for Sunday morning services)
  • Hold the team accountable to follow organizational standards
