Requirements

  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Strong leadership skills
  • Standing or walking for at least 50% of the work day
  • Occasional bending, stooping
  • Strong interpersonal communication, time management, and conflict management skills
  • Willingness and ability to enforce policies and resolve conflicts
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
  • Completion of First Aid, CPR, and AED training, as required

Nice To Haves

  • Previous experience working with children ages 5-14 years old is preferred

Responsibilities

  • Supervise and interact with children ages 5 – 14 years old individually and in a larger group
  • Lead campers in daily activities, including sports, games, arts and crafts, and transitions from one activity to another
  • Participate in a variety of camp related activities including swimming, climbing on the climbing wall, and others to encourage camper participation
  • Enforce all rules and policies of camp and the Recreation and Wellness Center to ensure a safe and enjoyable experience for all campers
  • Foster a positive and inclusive environment by encouraging teamwork, respect, and cooperation among campers
  • Provide guidance and support to campers, addressing any concerns or conflicts that arise
  • Act as a role model by demonstrating positive behavior, enthusiasm, and a strong work ethic
  • Respond and provide care to injured campers as necessary
  • Maintain clear and open communication with camp staff, parents, and campers
  • Attend all required trainings and meetings
  • Complete all necessary documentation and reports
  • Perform other duties as assigned
