About The Position

Be part of our Integrated Behavioral Health (IBH) Team providing outpatient diagnostic assessment, and treatment services for patients and families with behavioral health and/or medical needs in the Headache Clinic. The CentraCare Neurosciences Headache Center is a rapidly expanding program with a focus on comprehensive interdisciplinary patient care, diagnosis, and treatment of all types of headache syndromes. We recognize the impact of headache and migraine is not a disease state isolated to the individual. These individuals struggle on multiple facets including career, relationships and friendships, and there is a significant adverse effect on children of headache and migraine patients, including increased rates of anxiety and depression among adolescents. Our mission is to provide exceptional headache care through tailored, multidisciplinary, and state-of-the art approaches.
Requirements
- Master’s Degree in Psychology, Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy or related Human Services field required.
- State of Minnesota licensure required, need to have one of the following: The Board of Psychology as a Licensed Psychologist (LP) or the Board of Social Work at Independent Clinical level (LICSW) or the Board of Marriage and Family Therapy as a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) or the Board of Behavioral Health & Therapy as a Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor (LPCC).
- Minimum of one-year experience required.
- Requires successful compliance with Minnesota Law, Chapter 372 relating to sexual exploitation of patients by staff providing psychotherapy services.
- PhD or PsyD in Clinical or Counseling Psychology is required.
- Licensure by the State of Minnesota Board of Psychology as Licensed Psychologist (LP).

Responsibilities
- Work collaboratively with CentraCare’s Headache team as part of the interdisciplinary treatment team.
- Participate in Biofeedback & Relaxation Techniques
- Provide diagnostic, psychological, or biopsychosocial evaluation and execute therapeutic treatment toward defined goals.
- Provide clinical interventions to include individual, marital, couples, family, and group therapy & education to adults.
- Responsibilities as an IBH Psychotherapist in the Headache Clinic include triaging urgent needs from community members and providing intervention in same-day crisis situations.
- May assist in staff development through consultation, education, and supervision as well as assist in program development.
- The psychotherapist works to strengthen motivation and commitment to specific change goals through a collaborative, goal-oriented style of communication using motivational interviewing and evidence-based psychotherapy.
