About The Position

Responsible for providing psychotherapy through evidence based modalities with individuals, children, families, and groups. Provides assessment and counseling support for mental, emotional, social and behavioral issues. Assists patients in learning effective tools to cope with mental health symptoms, stress, grief and loss, and to make healthy behavioral changes. Works in partnership with physicians, other health practitioners and administrative staff on care coordination and treatment planning. The position also collaborates with the other psychotherapists to implement and sustain best practices and to stay abreast of research and best practice in the field of behavioral health and psychotherapy. This position provides BBS required supervision for Associate Social Workers / Associate Marriage and Family Therapists employed as Mental Health Therapists in the department. Provides mentorship to MHTs specific to the PAMF Santa Cruz Integrated Behavioral Health program and follows Sutter Health documentation requirements for supervising unlicensed clinicians.

Requirements

  • Master's: Degree in a Mental Health discipline
  • LCSW-Licensed Clinical Social Worker
  • Two years of recent relevant experience
  • Ability to assess the needs of the patient, provide high quality integrative psychotherapy, guided imagery and other evidenced based approaches as indicated
  • Knowledge of holistic assessment, care plan development and outcomes tracking methods
  • Capacity to work within the integrative model and in line with most recent research findings regarding behavioral health in the ambulatory care setting
  • Candidate must have desire and ability to work as an active member of an interdisciplinary practice team
  • Required to have knowledge of the most recent Board of Behavioral Science requirements and adhere to them
