About The Position

The Psychotherapist Senior position at RWJBarnabas Health involves evaluating patients' psychotherapeutic needs and providing psychotherapy, behavioral support, and caregiver education/support for outpatient autistic populations under age 5. The role requires collaboration with developmental pediatricians or other diagnosticians and caregivers to identify treatment goals, as well as providing effective individual and family group psychotherapy. The position also includes identifying community supports, attending program development and case conferences, providing in-services to staff and community agencies, and supervising staff, fellows, interns, and externs as needed.

Requirements

• Master's Degree.
• NJ Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW).
• AHA BLS Provider Certification.
• Tact, initiative, and judgment in performance of duties.
• Minimum 5 years of experience working with children under five years old and their caregivers.

Responsibilities

• Collaborates with developmental pediatrician or other diagnostician and caregiver to identify treatment goals.
• Provides effective individual and family group psychotherapy as indicated with emphasis on parenting of young children with autism or related issues.
• Identifies and assists with linkage to community supports as needed.
• Identifies realistic goals for psychotherapy.
• Attends program development and case conferences as indicated for patients treated or evaluated.
• Provides in-services to staff and community agencies as requested by Supervisor.
• Disseminates findings accurately and sensitively, according to Department policy.
• Provides supervision to staff, fellows, interns, and externs as indicated.
• Provides effective team consultation as needed.
