About The Position

The Psychotherapist position is a part-time role (28 hours per week) that is fully remote. The role involves providing virtual Collaborative Care to patients aged 18 and older as part of the Adult Behavioral Health Integration (BHI) program. Psychotherapists will collaborate with psychiatric consultants and primary care providers to deliver brief interventions for patients with mild to moderate behavioral health concerns. The position requires the psychotherapist to be available for team meetings on Thursdays. The role includes providing evidence-based care in the diagnosis and treatment of mental illness and substance use disorders, as well as individual, conjoint, group, and family psychotherapy, along with crisis intervention services as needed.

Requirements

  • Master's (or Doctoral) degree in clinical or counseling psychology with one year supervised post-masters experience; OR Master's degree in Social Work with two years post-Master's experience in mental health/chemical dependency setting.
  • Licensed Psychologist; OR Limited Licensed Psychologist; OR Licensed Master's in Social Work.
  • At least 2 years of outpatient experience.
  • Proficient in Microsoft applications.
  • Epic experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Conducts diagnostic and psychosocial assessments and treatment planning to determine the appropriate level of care and services for patients and their families.
  • Provides evidence-based care in the diagnosis and treatment of mental disorders and substance use disorders in children, adolescents, adults, and geriatric patients in an outpatient setting.
  • Performs evidence-based psychotherapy including individual, conjoint, family, group, and didactic as qualified.
  • Provides urgent consultation/evaluations and crisis services as necessary to stabilize patient functioning and maintain continuity of care.
  • Completes all clinical documentation in a timely manner and in accordance with state and Federal regulatory agencies and Henry Ford Behavioral Health standards and expectations.
  • Ensures access for patient appointments is timely and in accordance with clinic expectations and standards.
  • Compliance with all accreditors and regulators (JCAHO, Blue Cross, Medicare, HIPPA).
  • Participates in Departmental Quality Improvement initiatives, including but not limited to patient satisfaction and outcome studies.
  • Partners with Department leadership to maintain the financial health of the Department of Psychiatry, by maintaining departmental productivity/utilization expectations and optimizing the revenue cycle.
  • Performs and complies with all managed care practice and standards including but not limited to obtaining appropriate pre and re-authorizations for service, providing timely feedback to referral sources and case managers.
  • Participates in the education, either by didactic presentations or clinical supervision of Departmental trainees as qualified.
  • Attainment of 15 hours of continuing education credits per year.
  • Completes Annual Mandatory Educational Courses as assigned by BHS and/or HFHS.
  • Maintains core competencies as defined by Behavioral Health.
  • Partners and collaborates with the BHS research enterprise to fulfill the academic mission of the Department of Psychiatry.
  • Schedules and attends work reviews with assigned licensed psychologist as required by the Board of Psychology and maintains records of this supervision, if applicable by graduate degree.
  • Works collaboratively with all staff to ensure quality of care and an optimal work environment.
  • Partners with Leadership to support departmental mission, vision, and values.
  • Attends all Departmental, Clinic, and Treatment Team meetings.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned or requested.
