This job administers psychological tests to child, adolescent and adult inpatient and outpatient populations, scores tests, compiles results, writes behavioral observations, administers and scores computer-based assessment procedures. Maintains testing supplies and computer services and participates in psychology related activities such as research, projects, etc. To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Requirements

  • Education Required – Bachelor's degree.
  • Work Experience Required – None.
  • Knowledge of human behavior and performance.
  • Knowledge of principles, methods and procedures for diagnosis, treatment and rehabilitation of physical and mental dysfunctions.
  • Proficiency in using computers, software, and web-based applications.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills and ability to present information clearly and professionally.
  • Highly developed interpersonal skills and ability to work for extended periods of time on a one-to-one basis with a diverse patient population.
  • Critical thinking/analytical skills.
  • Time management and organizational skills and ability to pay close attention to detail and maintain an effective clinic.

Nice To Haves

  • Preferred – Bachelor’s degree in psychology or related field.
  • Preferred – 1 year of experience with cognitive and behavioral assessments.

Responsibilities

  • Interviews patient and documents demographic information, chief complaint, current medications, and other information.
  • Administers and scores psychological test batteries to children and adults.
  • Writes detailed observations of patient's behavior during testing.
  • Records test scores, behavioral observations and billing times and reviews medical charts.
  • Processes reports for psychological tests, social histories, etc.
  • Maintains testing materials and computer scoring services.
  • Accompanies psychologists to and participates in interdisciplinary clinics.
  • Assists in section/departmental research.
  • Adapts behavior to the specific patient population, including but not limited to respect for privacy, method of introduction to the patient, adapting explanation of services or procedures to be performed, requesting permissions and communication style.
  • Performs other related duties as required.
  • Remains knowledgeable on current federal, state and local laws, accreditation standards or regulatory agency requirements that apply to the assigned area of responsibility and ensures compliance with all such laws, regulations and standards.
