About The Position

The Psychology Technician position at the Department of Justice involves supporting the psychological assessment and treatment processes within a correctional facility. Requirements

• U.S. Citizenship is required.
• Graduate education or specialized experience in psychology or related fields is necessary for GL-06 and GL-07 levels.
• Experience in administering psychological tests and managing psychological data systems is preferred for GL-07.
• Ability to communicate effectively and organize clerical processes.

Nice To Haves

• Experience in a correctional or mental health setting.
• Familiarity with psychological assessment tools and techniques.

Responsibilities

• Administer and score a variety of psychological tests, including MMPI and Millon Clinical Multiaxial Inventory.
• Implement and manage the Bureau of Prisons' automated psychology data entry system.
• Train psychology staff on the use of the Psychology Data System (PDS).
• Maintain tracking logs for various mental health monitoring programs.
• Prepare and distribute correspondence, reports, and meeting minutes for the Chief Psychologist.
• Manage department expenditures and prepare purchase orders as a purchase card holder.
• Ensure the security of the institution as part of correctional responsibilities.
