About The Position

The Psychology Research Lab Assistant position at the University of New Mexico involves supporting the Cognitive & Affective Neuroscience of Psychopathology (CANoPy) lab in various research activities. The role focuses on behavioral and neuroimaging projects, where the assistant will contribute to designing experiments, collecting and analyzing data, and preparing manuscripts and presentations. This position is particularly centered on developing analysis routines for a magnetoencephalography (MEG) dataset.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED.
• At least 1 year of experience directly related to the duties and responsibilities, which may include practicum.
• Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution is preferred.
• 2 years of research laboratory experience, preferably in Psychology.
• Previous experience with IRB documentation.

Responsibilities

• Assists with data collection, organization, and maintenance of research projects, including interviewing participants and compiling data.
• Conducts research data entry and manages database maintenance.
• Assists with laboratory research by conducting assessments and contacting research participants.
• Sets up and delivers various research apparatus as required for individual projects.
• Collects and logs research data in strict accordance with established protocols.
• Maintains IRB compliance in association with research involving human subjects.
• Protects human subject data in compliance with HIPAA regulations.
• Performs other job-related duties as assigned.
