About The Position

The Postdoctoral Psychology Fellowship is a full-time appointment. The Postdoctoral Fellow will be responsible for the delivery of behavioral health services at three Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine (PCOM) Healthcare Centers in Philadelphia, PA. Primarily, the postdoctoral fellow will be responsible for delivering a trauma-informed, cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT) intervention for adults impacted by gun violence. This CBT program is a component of PCOM's gun violence education and treatment initiative, SHELTER (Support and Healing through Empowerment, Learning, and Trauma Education in Recovery after gun violence). Additionally, the Fellow will work as a member of the Healthcare Centers' multidisciplinary teams to provide psychological assessment and treatment for patients with behavioral health concerns commonly seen in primary care, including substance use disorders, weight management, medication adherence issues, depression, and anxiety. The Fellow will be supervised by licensed clinical psychologists embedded at the Healthcare Centers and in the PCOM Department of Clinical Psychology, and will work closely with osteopathic physicians, residents, psychology interns, and graduate students. The Fellow will participate in didactics and seminars on the topics of clinical psychology, trauma, and gun violence prevention and treatment, and may contribute to program evaluation data analysis and dissemination. PCOM's Healthcare Centers were established to serve the medical needs of the community by providing a variety of quality and easily accessible healthcare services in one location. SHELTER programming will be offered at no cost to eligible participants. This position is funded for three years. Funding of this position is contingent upon the continued funding of the grant/contract. This position will require full-time work in three locations in Philadelphia, PA (Hassman Family Medicine Center/City Ave, Cambria and Lancaster Divisions).
