About The Position
The University of North Carolina Wilmington (UNCW) is seeking a Laboratory Research Technician for the Psychology Department within the College of Science and Engineering. This position is a time-limited appointment starting in August 2024 and will last until May 31, 2027. The Laboratory Research Technician will play a crucial role in overseeing laboratory investigations, managing the scheduling of undergraduate research assistants, maintaining equipment, and conducting complex experiments with laboratory rats according to established procedures and techniques. The technician will also be responsible for computer programming, executing experimental procedures, recording results, performing preliminary data analysis, and interpreting findings. Additionally, the role includes cleaning and maintaining laboratory equipment, administering injections to rats, and overseeing animal care. The Psychology Department at UNCW is dedicated to preparing students to become psychologically literate citizens, equipping them with the skills necessary to engage in life activities that advance scientific knowledge and improve community well-being.
