About The Position

The Department of Psychology within the College of Science and Engineering at the University of North Carolina Wilmington (UNCW), invites applications for a Laboratory Research Technician starting August 2024. This is a time-limited, -earning appointment from date of hire through May 31, 2027. The Laboratory Research Technician provides oversight of laboratory investigations, scheduling of undergraduate research assistants' weekly hours, equipment maintenance, and completion of complex experiments with rats according to specified procedures and techniques. Other responsibilities include computer programming, carrying out procedures, recording results, preliminary data analysis and interpretation of results, cleaning and maintaining equipment, administering injections to laboratory rats, and animal care oversight. The Psychology department is a dynamic and collaborative department dedicated to excellence in our primary purpose - preparing students to become psychologically literate citizens with the skills necessary to flourish and engage in life activities that serve to advance scientific knowledge, solve problems and actively engage in efforts to improve our communities and beyond. The department looks forward to adding a Laboratory Research Technician to the team.

Responsibilities
