Psychologist – hybrid (full-time or part-time)
About The Position
Liberty Healthcare is seeking a Psychologist for a hybrid (full-time or part-time) position within its specialized forensic mental health program. This program operates within the West Valley Detention Center, a county jail in Rancho Cucamonga, CA, managed by the San Bernardino County Sheriff. The award-winning program delivers high-quality assessment and treatment services to justice-involved adults experiencing mental illness and deemed incompetent to stand trial. The role offers flexibility, allowing for partial remote work from a home office and partial onsite work at the detention center. Candidates can choose a flexible part-time schedule or a full-time schedule with options for a compressed four-day or traditional five-day workweek.
Requirements
- Licensed professionally in California as a Psychologist

- Training and/or experience evaluating and treating forensic patients
Responsibilities
- Conducting mental status examinations
- Formulating diagnoses
- Evaluating patients for competency to stand trial
- Writing comprehensive reports
- Occasionally providing court testimony
- Collaborating with psychiatrists, nurses, mental health clinicians and ancillary professionals
- Actively participating in staff meetings, case conferences, and treatment planning
- Performing risk assessments and crisis management assistance
