About The Position

The University of California, San Francisco Department of General Internal Medicine (DGIM) is looking for a health psychologist to work collaboratively with DGIM physicians, resident physicians, nurse practitioners and dieticians to provide counseling and behavioral interventions for patients with chronic care conditions and patients referred by our Weight Management clinicians. DGIM is comprised of four primary care locations, all at the Mt. Zion campus. We have a primary care residency training program with approximately 75 residents and also train medical and nurse practitioner students. This position is managed in collaboration with the Weight Management program, which has clinical oversight for a team of clinicians serving UCSF primary care patients. The final salary and offer components are subject to additional approvals based on UC policy. Your placement within the salary range is dependent on a number of factors including your work experience and internal equity within this position classification at UCSF. For positions that are represented by a labor union, placement within the salary range will be guided by the rules in the collective bargaining agreement. The salary range for this position is $51.56 - $93.07 (Hourly Rate). Requirements

  • PhD in clinical psychology or Psy.D. from an accredited institution
  • Active CA clinical psychologist license
  • Minimum three years of clinical experience
  • Active CA clinical psychologist license
  • Must be cleared of credentialing.
  • Meets requirements for LPPH&C Medical Staff membership
  • Demonstrated ability to provide time limited therapy (e.g., CBT, DBT, TLDP, IPT, etc.) for anxiety and mood disorders
  • Demonstrated ability to provide supportive psychotherapy
  • Demonstrated ability to appropriately triage and manage mental health emergencies
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively under supervision, seek and receive feedback, and maintain interest in continuing professional development
  • Demonstrated cultural sensitivity and humility
  • Demonstrated strong interpersonal and communication (verbal and written) skill with an emphasis intact and diplomacy and ability to interact with members from various levels of an organization
  • Demonstrated record of excellent reliability in attendance and punctuality
  • Demonstrated commitment to projects and strong initiative
  • Demonstrated effective organizational, planning, and scheduling abilities
  • Demonstrated ability to create collaborative alliances and promote teamwork.

Nice To Haves
