About The Position

The Center for Victims of Torture works toward a future in which torture ceases to exist and its victims have hope for a new life. We are an international nonprofit dedicated to healing survivors of torture. We offer rehabilitation services to those who have been tortured, train partners around the world who can prevent and treat torture, and advocate for human rights and an end to torture. We are headquartered in Minnesota, and we have US offices in Georgia and DC, as well as offices in Africa and the Middle East. The Center for Victims of Torture is hiring a Psychologist to provide high-quality, trauma-informed, culturally responsive psychotherapy services. Services will include individual, couples, and group therapy for clients seeking support for mental health and well-being, including those experiencing anxiety, depression, or the effects of trauma, among other symptoms. This role is central to CVT’s innovative social enterprise model, blending excellent clinical care with a mission-driven approach to expanding access to mental health support and sustaining other programming for survivors of torture. Position open to: Candidates located in the Clarkston, GA area who are authorized to work in the U.S. and will not need CVT to sponsor them on a work visa. Remote status: Position is partially remote. 50% in-office in Clarkston, GA and 50% remote. Requirements

Doctoral degree (Ph.D. or Psy.D.) in Clinical or Counseling Psychology from an APA-accredited program.
Fully licensed as a Psychologist (LP) in Georgia.
PSYPACT eligibility to expand client reach across state lines.
Minimum 2 years of postdoctoral clinical experience.
Strong knowledge of evidence-based, trauma-informed psychotherapies.

Nice To Haves

3–5 years of post-licensure experience.
Experience in private practice, social enterprise, or fee-for-service settings.
Familiarity with insurance credentialing and billing practices.
Experience with refugee, immigrant, or survivor populations.
Knowledge and use of relationship-based therapy models.
Demonstrated cultural humility and experience working cross-culturally.
Working knowledge of Microsoft Office suite (Outlook, Word and Excel).
Excellent written, verbal and interpersonal communications skills.
Excellent skills in organization, attention to detail and time management (including the ability to meet deadlines).

Responsibilities

Conduct comprehensive psychological assessments, diagnostic evaluations, and treatment planning.
Provide psychotherapy for individuals, couples, and groups, with emphasis on evidence-based and trauma-informed approaches.
Deliver services both in-person and via telehealth.
Ensure culturally responsive practice that reflects CVT’s values.
Participate in case consultation, team collaboration, and supervision, as needed.
Maintain timely and accurate clinical documentation, including progress notes, treatment plans, and summaries, in compliance with HIPAA and CVT policies.
Support insurance credentialing, billing, and reimbursement processes.
