About The Position

This position will operate as a core part of a psychiatry team in our outpatient psychiatry clinic, and will work closely with our Psychiatry Providers to provide outpatient psychotherapeutic service.

Requirements

• Doctorate Required: PhD or PsyD in psychology with appropriate focus on child, adolescent, or early development, including completion of an internship in an APA or CPA accredited psychology program.
• Training in at least one evidence-based practice (including, but not limited to: PCIT, TF-CBT, DBT, CBT, ERP, FBT, PMT- Parent Management Training, Motivational Interviewing).
• Post-doctoral fellowship in pediatric psychology or integrated healthcare is preferred but not required.
• Prior pediatric experience required.
• Licensed Psychologist.

Responsibilities

• Participate as an active member of the psychiatry and psychology team.
• Provides assessment and ongoing psychotherapeutic treatment on an outpatient basis.
• Collaborates and works as a team member with physicians, nurses and other health care professionals.
• Demonstrates respect and regard for the dignity of all patients, families, visitors, and fellow employees to ensure a professional, responsible, and courteous environment.
• Remains knowledgeable and up-to-date on relevant research and empirically validated clinical practice through attendance and participation at continuing education events.
• Utilizes hospital resources and time respectfully and accountably.
• Document assessment, interventions, and treatment plans clearly and promptly in patient records.
• Attend clinic meetings, including office staff, and treatment team meeting.
• Willingly accepts any other assignment that may be requested.
• Participates in providing training and in-service education for East TN Children's Hospital staff.
• Supervises and engages in clinical teaching with psychology trainees.
