About The Position

The Psychologist will provide psychological services within outpatient and intensive outpatient settings. OCD/ IOP

Requirements

  • Doctoral Degree in Clinical Psychology: In-depth understanding of psychological assessment, diagnosis, and treatment.
  • Evidence-Based Treatments: Knowledge of various evidence-based therapies, such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), and others applicable to outpatient and intensive outpatient settings.
  • Ethics and Professional Standards: Comprehensive knowledge of ethical principles and standards in psychological practice.
  • Path toward obtaining a Psychologist License: Is in the process of or planning for the accumulation of sufficient supervised clinical hours for applying for a Psychologist License in the state of Rhode Island.
  • Therapeutic Skills: Proficiency in conducting individual and group therapy sessions effectively.
  • Assessment and Evaluation: Ability to conduct detailed psychological assessments and intake evaluations to determine appropriate treatment plans.
  • Interpersonal Communication: Strong verbal and written communication skills, crucial for therapy, documentation, and collaboration with healthcare teams.
  • Crisis Intervention: Skills in managing acute psychological crises and applying appropriate interventions.
  • Adaptability: Ability to work effectively across various settings such as outpatient, partial hospital, and intensive outpatient programs.
  • Clinical Judgment: Strong decision-making skills in clinical settings to choose appropriate treatment interventions.
  • Empathy and Sensitivity: High level of empathy and sensitivity towards patients' needs and diverse backgrounds.
  • Team Collaboration: Ability to collaborate effectively with other healthcare professionals to provide comprehensive patient care.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct Intake Evaluations: Assess new patients using standardized diagnostic tools and clinical interviews to determine appropriate level of care and treatment plans.
  • Provide Individual Therapy: Deliver evidence-based psychological treatments tailored to individual patient needs.
  • Facilitate Group Therapy Sessions: Plan and conduct therapy groups focused on skills development, psychoeducation, and support for various mental health conditions.
  • Develop Treatment Plans: Collaborate with patients and healthcare teams to create and update personalized treatment plans.
  • Monitor Patient Progress: Regularly evaluate and document patient progress and modify treatment plans as necessary. Conduct risk assessments and complete safety plans as needed.
  • Participate in Multidisciplinary Teams: Engage in regular consultations with a team of healthcare professionals to ensure integrated care.
  • Crisis Intervention: Support the delivery of immediate therapeutic interventions during acute psychological crises, if needed.
  • Maintain Clinical Records: Keep thorough, timely, and accurate documentation of patient sessions and progress according to professional standards. If needed, provide support processes related to measurement-based care (e.g. measurement selection; data acquisition and processing).
  • Comply with Ethical Standards: Adhere to the ethical guidelines and standards of practice set by Care New England, American Psychological Association (APA) and local licensing boards.
