The Candidate Assessment Division is responsible for overseeing the character investigation, physical agility testing, medical screening, and psychological testing of candidates seeking uniformed and civilian employment with the New York City Police Department. Under general supervision, with latitude for independent or unreviewed action or decision, performs professional work in the field of psychology. Employee is expected to conduct psychological testing and interviews, and through the selection, administration, interpretation of standard group and individual tests of personality development and intellectual capacity, evaluate individuals' emotional and intellectual functioning. Employee is expected to prepare reports of psychologist findings, and maintain suitable records and files of test performance results.
