About The Position

ChristianaCare’s Medical Group - Embedded Behavioral Health department is searching for a Full Time Psychologist II to support our Inpatient Rehab Team at the Wilmington Hospital in Wilmington DE . Center for Rehabilitation | ChristianaCare The Psychologist will enhance and improve the quality of patient care at ChristianaCare by providing psychological assessment, psychological treatment, consultation and education services on the inpatient rehabilitation unit, as well as outpatient rehab needs as they arise. The Psychologist provides clinical support as part of the embedded behavioral health team with a focus on rehab psychology. This position will demonstrate excellent clinical skills, empathy, and a commitment to delivering high-quality behavioral health care. Requirements

  • PhD or PsyD in Clinical or Counseling Psychology required.
  • Delaware license or eligible for Delaware license.
  • Maintains ongoing/continuing education as required &/or as necessary to remain current with treatment methodology.
  • Experience working with multidisciplinary treatment teams in a medical setting.
  • All qualified candidates will be required to be licensed prior to start date.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in rehab psychology and/or clinical/health psychology working in a medical setting with individuals and groups with health-related conditions, strongly preferred

Responsibilities

  • Conducts clinical interviews and assessments to provide diagnostic impression and treatment recommendations for patients on the inpatient rehab unit.
  • Provides evidenced-based psychological interventions including individual therapy and group therapy for patients on the inpatient rehab unit.
  • Functions as a member of the multidisciplinary rehab team (physicians, nurses, speech therapists, occupational therapists, physical therapists) regarding coordination of patient care, treatment planning, and connection to community-based services as appropriate.
  • Provide psychodiagnostic evaluation and psychological intervention for outpatient rehab patients as needs and opportunities arise.
  • Able to effectively communicate and work constructively with the multidisciplinary treatment team and maintain timely and appropriate documentation of the patient's clinical status, progress, and treatment in the electronic health record.
  • Provides coordination of care services with patients, families, providers, payment sources and other involved parties.
  • Actively participates in the design and implementation of research, evaluation, and quality improvement projects to assess the effectiveness and specific influence of the health psychology component as needed.
  • Maintains up-to-date information on effective strategies and interventions to address psychological issues and health behavior change for the rehab psychology population.
  • Participate in teaching of psychology trainees and/or other learners as needed.
  • Maintains licenses/certifications in areas of specialty and completes mandatory CCHS education.
  • Performs related duties as required.
