About The Position
Opening March 2023 Psychologist - Cornwell Avenue Are you the type of person who wants to support a student's ability to learn and a teacher's ability to teach? Do you want to build bridges and partner with families and other professionals to create a safe, healthy, and supportive learning environment that creates a bridge between home, school, and the community? We want to support a school psychologist who can help others reach their potential. The ultimate goal is to set students on a path where they can reach their goal of succeeding academically, socially, behaviorally, and emotionally. If you are interested, here is what year one is all about. For a psychologist, this is the stuff of dreams - variety is the spice of life. You never know who will come to your office. You need to be flexible, patient, and open to change to excel in this role. As well you should be proficient in Data collection and analysis Assessment, progress monitoring, and school-wide practices to promote learning Academic/learning, mental health, and behavioral interventions Prevention and intervention services Special education services Realistically, we need someone with the proper certifications. However, our school psychologists provide direct support and interventions to students, consult with teachers, families, and other school-employed mental health professionals to improve support strategies, and work with staff to improve school-wide practices and policies. While this is all about year one and beyond, day one is good, too. These are things like compensation, the district, the staff, and the location. However, none of this matters unless 'Year One and Beyond' makes career sense for you.
