About The Position

The Assistant Director of Group and Outreach Activities at Wellesley College will work within the Counseling Service as part of a dedicated clinical team. This role is pivotal in coordinating group and outreach programs aimed at enhancing the mental health and wellness of students. The successful candidate will be responsible for setting goals, initiating, designing, coordinating, and assessing various group and outreach activities. This includes overseeing and updating the Counseling Service's website and acting as a liaison to the Office of Student Wellness. The position also involves providing direct clinical services, including emergency and after-hours on-call services, and supervising practicum and internship-level students. In this role, the Assistant Director will create wellness spaces in the new Health and Counseling building, collaborating closely with the Stone Center Cross-cultural Specialist to ensure that all student populations are effectively served. The performance profile emphasizes the importance of helping students stabilize their mental health, gain insight, and empower them to manage their challenges. Additionally, the Assistant Director will assist interns and trainees in developing their clinical skills and will be an integral part of the Counseling Service team, working collaboratively with colleagues across the Division of Student Life to meet the mental health needs of the student body. The position requires maintaining expertise in mental health provision by adhering to licensure requirements, ethical guidelines, and relevant laws.
