The Psychological Examiner is responsible for conducting psychological assessments, evaluating mental health conditions, and assisting in the development of treatment plans within a department. This role involves working with diverse populations, including individuals in mental health facilities, correctional institutions, rehabilitation programs, and social service settings. Requirements

  • Must be licensed as a Psychological Examiner or Licensed Psychological Practitioner in the State of Arkansas.
  • Must possess a Master's Degree in Psychology, Clinical Psychology, or a related field; plus one year of experience in psychological assessments, counseling, or mental health services.
  • Strong knowledge of psychological assessment tools, diagnostic criteria, and behavioral analysis.
  • Proficiency in administering and interpreting cognitive, personality, and emotional assessments.
  • Ability to analyze complex psychological data and produce clear, actionable reports.
  • Understanding of trauma-informed care, neurodevelopmental disorders, and mental health conditions.
  • Clear and concise reporting of findings to medical, legal, and social service professionals.
  • Ability to assess and recommend interventions based on psychological findings.
  • Ensuring accuracy in assessments, diagnoses, and reports.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct psychological evaluations and diagnostic assessments for individuals receiving state services.
  • Administer, score, and interpret standardized psychological, cognitive, and behavioral assessments.
  • Evaluate mental, emotional, and behavioral health conditions using evidence-based practices.
  • Prepare detailed psychological reports with findings and recommendations for treatment or intervention.
  • Collaborate with clinicians, social workers, and medical professionals to develop comprehensive treatment plans.
  • Provide recommendations for therapeutic interventions, educational accommodations, and rehabilitative services.
  • Participate in case reviews and interdisciplinary team meetings to discuss client progress.
  • Assist in monitoring and modifying treatment plans based on assessment findings.
  • Conduct suicide risk assessments, behavioral evaluations, and crisis intervention screenings.
  • Maintain accurate and confidential records in compliance with state and federal regulations.
