Psychoeducation Specialist – Lorain Hospital This is a PRN "As Needed" Position Primary Function/General Purpose of Position The Psychoeducation Specialist provides direct patient care under the guidance of a designated healthcare professional in accordance with federal, state, and local regulations, and within policies, procedures, and guidelines of Bon Secours Mercy Health. Requirements

  • Must be licensed, certified, or registered as appropriate by state and national licensing boards in one of the following: Certified Therapeutic Recreation Specialist (CTRS) Registered Art Therapist (ATR) Provisional Registered Art Therapist (ATR-P) Board Certified Art Therapist (ATR-BC) Music Therapist-Board Certified (MT-BC) Registered Dance/Movement Therapist (R-DMT) Occupational Therapist Licensed (OTR/L)
  • Bachelors , O ccupational T herapy, R ecreational T herapy, or E xpressive T herapy (Music, Dance/Movement), C ounseling , or H uman S ervices (required)
  • 1 year in social or human services setting (required)

Responsibilities

  • Facilitates groups.
  • Provides Individual activities tailored to specific needs of patients (within scope).
  • May participate in family meetings and treatment team meetings.
  • Discharge planning in collaboration with Social Worker team
  • Community resource knowledge and coordination of activities; particularly in the area of specialized activities such as pet therapy, nutrition, yoga.
  • Completes leisure assessments
  • Care planning
  • May provide 1:1 patient safety companion service as needed.
  • May provide 15-minute patient checks as assigned.
  • Successfully participates to complete BSMH and departmental specific training as
