All medical care is given by third-year residents under the supervision of the Medical Director and the Washington University Medicine School faculty. Patients are seen on a regularly scheduled appointment basis. Services are provided by professional personnel in nursing, diagnostic laboratories, social services, pharmacy, and patient education. Admissions to 3-Wohl are by referrals generated by discharging physicians from inpatient psychiatry or from the psychiatry resident in the emergency room. Established patients with urgent needs are screened for acuity and referred to the ER as needed.
