About The Position

Mesilla Valley Hospital, a 120-bed freestanding psychiatric hospital, invites skilled psychiatrists to join our team in the vibrant city of Las Cruces, NM. Since 1987, we have been dedicated to providing diverse inpatient, residential, and partial hospital programs for adolescents, adults, and seniors. Proudly serving Las Cruces, surrounding areas, Western Texas, and Arizona, we specialize in mental health and drug and alcohol addiction services. This is a full-time, employed W-2 position with a clinical/admin split of 50/50. The role includes a manageable and sustainable caseload of 12 patients per day, conducting initial psychiatric evaluations and assessments, leading treatment teams, and providing daily care for adult patients. The schedule is flexible, Monday to Friday, with an option for a hybrid in-person remote arrangement, and it is a days-only position with minimal call and weekends. The psychiatrist will collaborate with residents, fellows, and medical students from Texas Tech El Paso.

Requirements

• MD/DO degree from an accredited program.
• BE/BC in Psychiatry.
• 3+ years prior medical team leadership experience.
• Licensed to practice in the State of NM or ability to obtain an NM medical license.
• Meets all credentialing criteria required by participating physicians.

Responsibilities

• Conduct initial psychiatric evaluations and assessments.
• Lead treatment teams and provide daily care for adult patients.
• Manage a caseload of 12 patients per day.
• Collaborate with residents, fellows, and medical students.
