About The Position

We are seeking an experienced and dedicated Full Time Psychiatrist to join our team at Cedar Crest Hospital. Cedar Crest Hospital and RTC is a 158-bed inpatient psychiatric facility. We offer acute inpatient services to children, adolescents and adults, and residential services for adolescents. Cedar Crest Hospital & RTC is committed to being a leader in Texas for providing evidence-based, quality behavioral healthcare for children, teens, adults, older adults, and their families in a safe, supportive environment. Located near Austin, Cedar Crest Hospital & Residential Treatment Center is a premier provider of mental health and co-occurring substance use disorder treatment for individuals of all genders. Responsible for the diagnosis and treatment of mental illnesses through a combination of personal counseling (psychotherapy), psychoanalysis, hospitalization and/or medication.

Requirements

• Doctoral degree in Medicine (MD or DO) required.
• One or more years' post graduate degree practice preferred.
• Licensed in the state in which the facility(s) operate.
• Board certification in psychiatry.
• Current DEA credentials to prescribe controlled substances without restrictions and per regulation within the state in which the practitioner will be working.

Responsibilities

• Responsible for providing clinical services to patients at the facility.
• Practice within medical protocols defined by federal and state regulations, as well as by corporate, facility policy or procedures.
• Review medical information on patients to ensure medical stability and to offer medical recommendations.
• Evaluate patients for mental, emotional or behavioral disorders.
• Treat or direct treatment of patients, utilizing a variety of psychotherapeutic methods and medications.
• Review and complete medical information for individual care plans, documents services and information in a timely manner.
• Maintain confidential documentation, compliance and billing in accordance with the policy and procedures.
