About The Position

The psychiatrist is responsible for supporting the psychiatric needs of the people served at the program, via medication management and collaboration with the other members of the treatment team. The psychiatrist assures that the needs of the individuals and the program are met in accordance with the Values of RHD, the policies of RHD, the standards of OMHSAS and DDAP and ICWC. A commitment to the RHD values should be demonstrated as job duties are performed. This office in located in Bryn Mawr PA. Local candidates will be considered

Requirements

  • MD in Psychiatry, or any other medical degree with Board Certification in Psychiatry, or has served a residency in psychiatry with prescribing privileges in the State of Operation.
  • At least three years of experience working with individuals with serious mental illness
  • At least three years of experience working in an outpatient setting for adults with serious mental illness
  • Ability to work as part of a multi-disciplinary team for the purpose of providing person-centered services
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills

Responsibilities

  • Provision of emergency services in person or by telephone as needed to assure appropriate care in time of crisis and during inpatient hospitalizations.
  • Provision of services and completion of tasks in accordance with RHD Values, OMHSAS standards, DDAP standards, ICWC, and Medicaid regulations.
  • Daily documentation of consumers’ progress and response to all medications
  • Ordering and reviewing medications and laboratory tests
  • Completion of documentation as required by the above entities and as needed for consumers to receive optimal and appropriate services while at the program.
  • Collaborate with other agencies or providers as needed to ensure continuity of care for individuals supported
  • Complete medication checks and psychiatric evaluations as needed.
  • Document sessions with a progress note and other required documentation in the EHR.
  • Review and update treatment plans, summaries, SSDI evaluations, and other legal documentation
  • Assure individuals are supported in addressing and maintaining highest compliance and best practice standards of licensing expectations and RHD Values
  • Any other duties as assigned
  • Maintain and abide by OSHA requirements and guidelines
  • Follows all Fire and Safety Policies and Procedures
  • Follows all Fiscal/Office/ HR Personnel Policies and Procedures
  • Follows all HIPAA Policies and Procedures and maintains confidentiality
  • Attends all required and scheduled trainings and meetings
  • Always maintain a professional demeanor and exercise good judgment in all areas of employment duties.
