About The Position

The Psychiatrist will be responsible for performing direct psychiatric services and psychiatric consultation. These services may be provided on site, at satellite offices, via telemedicine, or through consultation contracts.

Requirements

• Doctor of Medicine or Osteopathic Medicine who is certified by the American Board of Psychiatry & Neurology and is fully licensed to practice in the state of Iowa, required
• 4 years experience in the practice of psychiatry, which can include residency, required
• Licensed in state of Iowa upon hire, required
• Board certified or Board eligible.
• Obtain Board certification within 2 years of being eligible, required

Nice To Haves

• Experience in community mental health, preferred

Responsibilities

• Performs comprehensive evaluation, diagnosis, treatment planning and treatment of clients assigned on an outpatient basis
• Make referrals or recommendations for appropriate services.
• Comply with required documentation and record keeping
• Prescribe and review medications according to current standards of care
• Provide psychiatric consultations as indicated and requested
• Act as a liaison with hospital staff and other professionals and agencies with regard to psychiatric services
